International Interior Designer joins forces with Riviere Rugs
19th February 2020: Award winning international interior designer, Nikki Bisiker, has joined forces with Riviere Rugs, the company making custom luxury rugs for the world’s most discerning clients.
Dubai-based interior designer Nikki Bisiker has created three unique designs, each based on a moment of inspiration that came to her whilst travelling. Collaborating with Riviere Rugs, a company whose rugs are always of the highest quality, allows these visions to come to life to the highest standard.
Riviere Rugs is a family-run company based in London, making bespoke rugs that are completely hand-crafted. Their elegant designs are abstract, each with its own story and inspiration. Adapting and bringing to life Nikki’s visions is a match made in luxury interior heaven.
- Monello Design (pictured left): Whilst travelling in Lebanon, Nikki stumbled across lots of old churches, and winding between them, ancient cobbled streets. The mossy colour of the stones, Nikki says, reminded her of pebbles in a river when water rushes over them, distorting the light and blending their colours together to create something mesmerizing.
- Sea Anemone Design (pictured right): This design came to Nikki in the midst of a fish market in Lebanon. Fish, lying waiting to be sold, had been thrown together in a mass of blues, silvers and mauves. Pointing in all directions with no semblance of order, this design is an abstract version of this image; an elegant vision of shimmering scales.
- Brushstrokes Design (pictured below): Inspired by the fleeting images that appeared to her on morning walks, this design is evocative of the the random splashes of colour that occur when an artist paints with a classic artist’s palette, here reminiscent of dawn colours against the sea and wisps of cloud in the sky. Nikki designed this rug to highlight the possibilities of the seemingly random marks of colour that can occur in the act of creating art.
Says Nikki Bisiker, “The opportunity to design rugs that are fuelled by my experiences travelling is hugely gratifying for me. I design spaces without letting my own taste interfere, but I know that my Riviere designs will be the perfect finishing touch for rooms looking to add a touch of interest to the space.”
