Knightsbridge
This project constituted a total renovation – the first since the 1950s – on an Art Deco-era London apartment. The brief was to create a light, airy, elegant, unfussy yet cosy space for various generations of the same family for whom this was a long-standing second home. Maximising storage was key and the design needed to appeal to family members with different perspectives.
Knightsbridge
To usher the apartment into the 21st-century, flooring, walls, storage, ceilings, kitchens and bathrooms, doors, architraves, spatial planning, electrics, air-conditioning, heating and plumbing needed to be addressed. Rebirthing this Art Deco gem meant new custom joinery and furniture pieces, cleverly reworked storage and electrical containment, vibrant artwork, delicate Deco detailing and the use of mirrors and lighting to maximise space.
